My wife asked for amethyst butterfly earrings for her birthday. I searched for a pair that I would like, of course. After all, I see them when they’re being worn, not her! Well, I never found the amethyst version (I don’t like purple, anyway) but I did find a spectacular pair of silver butterfly earrings. And you know what? When she opened them she said “How did you know this is exactly what I wanted?” Go figure. I guess with most women you can’t go too wrong by giving her some silver charms or something like that. A lot of my buddies wouldn’t touch jewelry buying with a ten foot pole. But like I said, if I have to look at what she has on, I better like it! (more…)

So the snow’s finally melted off the roads. It’s good to be off the bus after over a week of standing shoulder to shoulder every morning and evening in that germ-laden tank of mouth breathers. Being back on the bike does have its benefits - not inhaling b.o. and the smell of stale cigarette smoke being two of them.
