December 20, 2011 - 7:04 pm No Comments

If you are like many Americans today, your diet is probably lacking in proper nutrition. Too many of us eat at fast food restaurants or buy prepared foods that we can quickly microwave at home. About the only way to break this pattern of behavior is to regularly associate with people who have healthy eating habits.  That is one reason many have joined nutritional chat rooms and information boards.  On these websites they can ask questions and be encouraged by others who are striving to eat only healthy foods.  Of course, anytime you enter a chat room, you really need a fast Internet connection.  I found that by searching for the internet service providers in my area that I was able to find two different companies to get my connection up to speed.

Another trick is to search for ISP providers by zip code. That will help you zero in quickly on the companies that work in your area.  Once your connection is up to speed, try searching for the term nutrition bulletin boards, chat rooms or blogs.  You will find that spending several minutes each day reading the comments of others will create in you the desire to eat right, making it much easier to put your new eating regimen in place. After all, it’s not just your waist line — it’s also your health that is at stake!

Help For Your Search With Internet Providers By Zip Code

August 16, 2011 - 5:24 pm No Comments

One way to slash the time it takes to find a new ISP is to search for internet service providers by zip code. Doing this will instantly reveal who is available to connect you in your area.  With the time you save finding available providers, you can give more attention to comparing them and assessing the value of each company’s assorted packages. Taking the time to fully research companies can result in the savings of hundreds of dollars per year, as many companies offer exclusive promotions to those who sign up online.

Evaluating internet service providers in your area is best done by using more than one tool, however. An ISP comparison resource is a great way to evaluate companies, as are independent and customer reviews. There have also been studies conducted about the internet industry that can offer valuable insight. One such study was recently conducted by the FCC and evaluated 13 companies over a 24 hour period to gauge their actual vs. advertised speeds. The results were surprising, as it was found that two out of three internet types could slow down by up to 20% during hours of peak usage. Studies like this can be found online by searching for the latest technology news.
